Our Doctors

Dr. Lori Civello was born and raised in northern Illinois. She attended University of Illinois and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. She bought Glendale Animal Hospital in 1997. She was awarded Hartz Veterinarian of the Year, Runner Up, in 2005. Serving on the Executive Board of Directors for Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, she received the CVMA Presidential Service Award in 2008. Her favorite part of practice is soft tissue surgery. She proudly shares her home with four dogs, six cats, husband Scott and her two teenage nieces. Her passion, other than animals, is sailing.

Dr. Catherine Bosco grew up in Riverside, Illinois. She graduated from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, after which she joined Glendale Animal Hospital. Clients find her warm and caring. She excels at GI endoscopy. Dr. Katie enjoys skiing, wakeboarding, college/pro football and time spent with husband Dominic.

Dr. Julie Bunn joined the Glendale Animal Hospital team in August 2008. A 2005 graduate of The Ohio State University, she grew up in Cincinnati. Her last practice experience was in Oswego. She has two cats - Mona and Divot - and enjoys golf, hiking, dancing and pretty much anything that involves the great outdoors!

Technicians

Brie always welcomes an opportunity to learn something new. She has been with GAH since 2008 and has three pets - Marley, Justice and Kia. In her free time, she enjoys reading, walking her dogs, movies and baking.
Katie has her degree in Zoology from Northern Michigan University. She has been with Glendale Animal Hospital since 1997, starting as a kennel worker. She is our surgery technician, and manages hospital inventory, keeping us well-stocked! She loves spending time with her husband and daughters, and gives a loving home to a dog and four cats.
Nikki is very interested in the field of Animal Behavior and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. She graduates this year from Fox College as a Certified Veterinary Technician.
Angelo has two Shetland Sheepdogs. He is currently taking classes at the College of DuPage, and plans on getting his registered nurse degree. In his rare spare time, he enjoys sports, time with his friends, and his favorite hobby - food.

Business Manager

Cathy Wanders has worked with Dr. Civello since before ownership of Glendale Animal Hospital. She wears many hats, including kennel manager, weekend technician, and all things business-related. She has two dogs - Twiggy and Stella, and 8 cats. She is also the keeper of ferrets Lucy and Ethel and corn snake Slytherin.

Front Desk

Dawn manages the office. She has been with Glendale Animal Hospital since 2003. She has always loved animals and has enjoyed a variety of pets - including a monkey! She currently has two cats - Kenya and Safari - who came from Safe Harbor Rescue. She has fond memories of her trip In 2001 - three weeks on Safari in Kenya, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
Michelle joined the GAH staff in May of 2010. She is married to Steve and a proud mother of Nicole and Kristi. The family shares their home with Duke, a white German Shepherd, hermit crabs and fish.

Venn attended the U of I with Dr. Civello. She shares her home with husband John, their Greyhound, Pomeranian, a batch of cats and a parrot named Hercule Poirot. She manages the GAH website.

Kennel Staff

Sofi has been with Glendale Animal Hospital for a year and a half. She loves working with animals and plans to go to college and study Veterinary Medicine.

Karen joined the GAH staff in January of 2009. She has years of experience working with animals and is pleased to bring her expertise to our hospital.

Danny has been with us since 2007. He has two cats, a dog and two leopard geckos.

Safe Harbor President

Diane Grey is a retired teacher and is known as Glendale Animal Hospital's Best Friend (officially). She has been volunteering at GAH since 1997. Besides overfeeding the staff, she spends endless hours socializing kittens and providing TLC to our hospital animals and patients. If she can't get a sick patient to eat, no one can! Last year, Diane was appointed President of Safe Harbor Rescue. At home, she cares for her four cats - Coco, Cookie, Cheyenne and Pebbles.

Lara has been working with animals for many years. She eagerly provides comfort to our patients, offering warm beds to sleep in and always a kind word delivered with TLC. She lives with husband Doug, two children and Angel, their Cocker/Llasa Apso mix.

Dr. Linda Kopija grew up in the western suburbs. She graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. In addition to her work at GAH, she works with shelters and rescue groups. She has several cats and dogs and enjoys reading and exercising.
Dr. Linda Olson graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine with Dr. Civello in 1988. She was on staff at GAH for years and is currently doing relief work and becoming certified in Veterinary Acupuncture.
Barb has worked for GAH for eight years. She loves her work; the only drawback is that you end up with many pets of your own! There is always someone in need of a good home... Barb has seven freshwater fish tanks and seven cats.

Relief Vets

Carol has been with GAH since 1996. She comes in the middle of the night to walk the dogs and give our animals their treatments.
