As I reflect on 2019, I am filled with gratitude. You’ve heard the phrase, “It takes a village”? That’s what it takes to provide your furry family member(s) with the best possible care: a village of compassionate of humans devoted to your pets’ well-being. I am grateful to the entire staff of Glendale Veterinary Animal for a wonderful year and a job well done, but I also wanted to take this opportunity to acknowledge a few key people.

This year has brought us the addition of Dr. Adam Deeke. In fitting with our hospital philosophy, he is warm and compassionate. He also has the best knowledge base of any new graduate I’ve ever known. He is in his first year of practice but has the benefit of having grown up the veterinary field.

Our veterinarians continue to grow in their skills and expertise. With Dr. Sally Odom’s help, we have expanded our exotics services and added a couple of orthopedic procedures to our repertoire. Dr. Julie Bunn has worked hard throughout the year to hone her skills with abdominal ultrasounds. All of our vets are dedicated to providing wonderful care to your pets. And with the larger staff, we have very few single doctor days.

I am blessed to have an excellent management team, including Melanie Gunderson and Katie Christenson. Without them, the place would fall apart. Despite personal losses and major surgery this year, Melanie continues to dedicate herself to making Glendale Animal Hospital the best it can be. And Katie has been a rock for 20 years, managing the technical staff and maintaining inventory. Both women are truly the heart of this practice and keep us all in check, reminding us to always do our best for our clients and patients.

I am also grateful to you, our clientele, for placing your trust in us. May you have a blessed 2020. Health and happiness to all of you!

Warmly,
Dr. Lori Civello
