If your pet needs emergency pet services during office hours please call us at 630-858-3530 to alert us to the situation so that we can prepare for your arrival to our animal urgent care facility. If you have a emergency outside of our regular office hours and need a veterinary emergency clinic, we recommend that you contact one of the following 24 hour hospitals:

What constitutes a medical emergency?
Any of the following conditions should be considered an emergency where your pet needs emergency pet services:
- A seizure lasting 15 minutes or more, or a chain of three within 24 hours
- Repeated and frequent vomiting, or projectile diarrhea
- A non-weight bearing lameness
- A wound that goes all the way through the skin
- A wound that is actively bleeding
- Difficulty breathing, or open mouth breathing in cats
- Constant coughing, or gagging
- Loss of consciousness
- Two hours of active labor during birth without a puppy or kitten being born
- A sudden inability to walk, circling, or falling over repeatedly
- A profound lethargy or reluctance to move
- A lack of appetite for more than one day
- Ingesting a toxin or a human drug
- Being hit by a car or other serious trauma
- A bleeding nose
- A bloated abdomen
- Hives or facial swelling

If your pet ingests a toxin you may also contact the Animal Poison Control Center at 888-426-4435. The APCC is a resource for any animal poison-related emergency. They are available 24 hours a day, year-round. A consultation fee may apply. If it is not an emergency please schedule online and we will make an appointment for you.
